San Luigi is a valley that has been linked to viticulture in the Dogliani area for centuries, but it is also a rich area that in some places lends itself well to the cultivation of Nebbiolo. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, right on one of the lowest and most south-facing lands, the Chionetti family cultivated some Nebbiolo vineyards, where Dolcetto did not ripen as well. It is from those same vineyards that our Langhe Nebbiolo La Chiusa is born, which carries with it a “Doglianese” imprint, particularly evident in its freshness.

The Nebbiolo vineyards are located lower than the other family properties in Dogliani, with a south and south-west exposure. The soil is light, and the position is particularly sheltered.

PRODUCTION AREA: The grapes come from the San Luigi area in the municipality of Dogliani.

BOTTLES: about 10,000

WINEMAKING: Harvest and alcoholic fermentation in October. The refinement from harvest to sale exceeds one year and is expected to pass in large barrels of untoasted French oak. The wine is not filtered.

CHARACTERISTICS: Ruby red with light opalescence. The nose presents fruity and floral/herbaceous hints. Elegant and fresh mouth.
